Water conservation not only helps with the problems of water shortages, it also helps environmental conservation. It can cut down on the number of new dams being developed, thus indirectly protecting the environment. The more water you use in irrigation, the more fertilizer you need. Controlled wate ring would not only save water, but also reduce the level of fertilizer that penetrates into our ground water.
Even something as small as asking for a cup of tea in a restaurant which we might not drink has an effect on the environment indirectly.
Electricity is required to supply water , and producing electricity creates pollution. And the detergent used to wash that cup would also have an impact on the environment.
